All players had been told to meet at the Holiday Inn in Swiss Cottage.

I’d been asked to do a short interview for the radio station and had been asked if there was a player I would like to join me for the interview. I chose George Best and so when we were heading off to Wembley Stadium a little later on, he seemed happy enough for me to sit next to him on the coach.

We sat at the back. Of course.
